When making a guitar or other stringed instrument it is essential that the correct measurements are used, so that the instrument intonates properly and is comfortable to use.
I have provided a nut slot calculator and a fret cacluator here on my site. If you find these useful, I'd be happy to hear about it. I have had requests for a 12-string calculator and when I get some spare time I'll write one!
